Story Behind the Art:

Stocking is made from vintage old cotton saris, and softly quilted. It is embroidered by artisans in West Bengal.

Kantha is the ancient Indian art of embroidery which is a simple running stitch. The way in which the stitch has been used is what makes the quilt extraordinary. While making the shawls, the cloth is given layers that are kept together by the stitches used to make this custom stocking is in vintage condition and has imperfections which give the piece its unique beauty and charm!!
